Creating a framework for a large-scale implementation of Content and Language Integrated Learning The first steps

We argue that in order for the EU 2020 educational goals to be achieved, a large-scale implementation of Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) is necessary. This educational approach not only ensures knowledge of multiple languages but it also stimulates pupils in such a way that they reach a higher cognitive level. To enable such large-scale implementation, a framework is needed that offers support and guidelines for the various countries and regions. This article presents the first steps towards such a supporting framework by presenting and applying four parameters that allow an analysis of the linguistic climate of a region/country. The makeup of a linguistic climate has a major influence on the way a language policy is held up, and therefore these parameters give an indication of where changes should be made to ensure a successful implementation of CLIL.

Nous soutenons que, pour que les objectifs éducatifs de l’UE 2020 à atteindre, une mise en œuvre à grande échelle de l’EMILE est nécessaire. Cette approche pédagogique assure non seulement la connaissance de plusieurs langues , il stimule également les élèves de manière à ce qu’ils atteignent un plus haut niveau cognitif . Pour permettre une telle mise en œuvre à grande échelle, un cadre est nécessaire qui ofre un soutien et des directives pour les diférents pays et régions . Cet article présente les premiers pas vers un tel cadre de soutien en présentant et en appliquant quatre paramètres qui permettent une analyse du climat linguistique d’un pays / région. La composition d’un climat linguistique a une influence majeure sur la voie d’une politique linguistique est maintenue , et par conséquent, ces paramètres donnent une indication de l’endroit où des changements devraient être faits pour assurer une mise en œuvre réussie de l’EMILE
